Reference Thoughts and Suggestions
for Caregiver Consideration
As individuals are unique and events complex, care plans cannot be pre-packaged and placed on a shelf in anticipation of later being pulled off the shelf and applied to the surprising need. These concepts and reference frameworks are offered to strengthen the development of an effective care plan by the church and to broaden the witness of the church when the need arises.
Care Calls offers caregivers background concepts for general awareness and preparation of care provision in the pre-event timeframe. Following the concepts, frameworks that can be referenced at the time of actual need, or in the post-event timeframe, are presented. The frameworks explore common elements of various care events and differing care tools and decisions. Aligning the elements within these frameworks – the ‘contexts’, the ‘what has changed’ and ‘what can change’, the ‘gaps’ and ‘elements’, the ‘objectives’ and ‘strategies’, to name several – supports effective care planning by care givers.
